Medico-Legal work is available as a service to solicitors and individual members of the general public, who can assess the service directly through us.

If you or your client has suffered as a result of criminal/personal injury or negligence by a third party, it is crucial for the psychological adjustment factor to be considered in any litigation. Our Psychologists provide consultation with lawyers and assessment for court reports.

Areas of Work

Care Matters and Child Protection

Assessment of parents involved in non-accidental injury or neglect of children. Assessment of mental health problems and personality disorder and its impact on parenting, assessment of parenting ability. Reports for care proceedings are prepared within eight weeks of the date of instruction.

Personal Injury

Assessment of the psychological effects of personal injury, assessment of Posttraumatic stress disorder. Reports for civil proceedings are prepared within eight weeks of the date of instruction.

Referrals

These can be accepted by phone or email. You can self-refer or be referred by your GP or Occupational Health Service, Legal representative etc. If you are seen under PPP medical insurance, a referral letter from a PPP ‘recognised’ Psychiatrist will be required.

Private Medical Insurance

Please seek authorisation for psychological treatment from your private medical insurance scheme as I would require confirmation at our first appointment.

Should your medical insurance not cover the full costs of your treatment, you will be required to make up the difference.
