What is it?
Telephone and e-mail counselling is available for clients who have difficulty in attending sessions. It is available to new and existing clients who are in need of a listening ear or sound and practical advice. Similar to a face-to-face session, the counsellor will send you a brief summary of the issue(s) discussed during the session, details of any tasks that have been agreed between the two of you that need to be completed by you by the next session and you will also receive an agenda for the next session.
E-Counselling
E-mail counselling is a counselling relationship that is conducted through the sending of e-mail letters by the client and e-mail responses by the counsellor. The client is free to discuss the issues that are important to them and the counsellor will then respond with their thoughts and questions in an attempt to reach a mutual understanding of what is needed and how it can be achieved. The frequency of the e-mails and the timing of the response will be negotiated between client and counsellor, as will the number of e-mails necessary.
For each e-mail received and responded to there is a charge £30. At least 1 hour will be spent considering the contents of your e-mail and the response.
Telephone Counselling
Telephone counselling works in the same way as it does when you see a counsellor face to face. You get your regular weekly slot and phone in to connect with your dedicated counselling professional. In this way you can be prepared for the next session and you can add to the agenda if needed. The agenda ensures that your phone call time each week is kept to things that need to be covered and the time is used to the best advantage possible.
