STRESS MANAGEMENT
Work-related stress is on the increase. Every year companies are significantly feeling the adverse effects that this human condition has on business: absenteeism is only one factor. The truth is that at some point in their working lives individuals will fall victim to some form of stress-related incident.
The physical ways of reducing stress might involve making hours of work more flexible and reducing workload. Another very useful approach to take would involve the promotion of self-management. This stance affords employees the opportunity to take responsibility for managing their stress levels. This is achieved by:
- Raising their awareness of stress-related illnesses
- Helping them to better recognise the warning signs
- Exposing them to ways that promote 'good-enough' mental health
